Bryan’s Gems – The Outpouring

This is the first posting / word from God Bryan has asked for me specifically to share. It might stretch you for a bit. But I hope you grab hold of it and take it to God. ¬†ūüôā

The Outpouring

April 13, 2014

Last week God started talking to me in my car about something He said He was about to do. ¬†Here’s what He said:

“Gifts of the Spirit are not the point, son. ¬†I AM the point. ¬†You have known this but many do not. ¬†It’s for this reason that I’m about to unlock the gifts of My Spirit that people were born with. ¬†Not only for those who know and love Me but especially for those who do not know Me or do not love Me.¬†

There will be new gifts. ¬†I want everyone to know that this is an entirely new move of Mine. ¬†The new gifts will be a sign of that. ¬†Some will move at the speed of thought and some will fly. ¬†All will know I’m here.¬†

An earthly father may remove something being used improperly by his children, but I’m not that way. ¬†The gifts were meant to be used in love and NOT meant to be put above Me. ¬†They were always signs that point to Me yet My children have sought them instead of Me. ¬†And so I am unlocking them in both the righteous and the wicked. ¬†The lost and the found will have them. ¬†All will have them in great abundance. ¬†When everyone is moving in powerful signs and wonders, nobody will see a need to chase them.¬†

For believers, gifts will grow in power and scope.  Walking in power and authority will be like breathing for The Body of Christ.  For unbelievers, they will be shocked by sudden encounters caused by their gifts.  They will have questions for you and your siblings.  Welcome them with open arms.

The gifts of My Spirit will be as silver in the days of Solomon; ¬†so plentiful that it will no longer be sought. ¬†You will all be freed to seek the gold that is My love, My presence, a relationship with your Father.”

The closest thing I can find to match it in scripture is this:

Joel 2:28 “And it shall come to pass afterward That I will pour out My Spirit on¬†all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your old men shall dream dreams, Your young men shall see visions.¬†

I think the key in that passage is “all flesh”. ¬†I say this because He goes further in Joel 2:29:

And also on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days.

Those are the church.  Verse 28 is in reference to humanity as a whole but specifically non believers.  Verse 29 is about believers or those who serve God.

God doesn’t usually “speak” to me. ¬†Now, I didn’t hear and audible voice but I surely got a bunch of obvious text. ¬†I heard Him quite clearly in my spirit and was overcome with His presence. ¬†I don’t say that to convince you. ¬†I say that to show why I was convinced it was Him and why I felt the need to share it. ¬†He normally talks to me through images or vivid daydreams, impressions, ideas, etc… ¬†I’ve learned to know when He’s entered into a conversation with me. ¬†But this was different somehow.

After He gave me this word, I said to Him, “Father, I’m not sure it’s a good idea I tell people that they’re going to fly. ¬†I mean, I like the idea and I can believe it but c’mon.”

He replied, “Test Me on this. ¬†I’ve told you that gifting will be easy for you. ¬†Go to Rutters and prove Me to the people working there.”

I was like, “Oh, now you’re talking! ¬†So, I’m going to go prophesy over them and you’re saying it will be like I’m totally in the zone and I’ll totally blow their minds?”

He replied, “Yes.”

Off I went to Rutters in Stewartstown, PA, at 3:00 am.

So I walk into Rutters. ¬†There’s a cashier and one other employee. ¬†I was already overcome with His presence, so I was kind of walking funny with a dazed look on my face. ¬†I was totally drunk on Him. ¬†The cashier says, “Um, are you OK?”

I said, “Yes, I was just talking with God.”

She leaned away from me, her eyes widening. ¬†She smirked and said, “Ooook.”¬†

“You don’t believe me?” I said.
She puts her hands on her hips and says, “Well, I’ll believe in God when I see some proof.”

HAHA!  Game on.

I proceeded to tell her all about herself. ¬†Her past, her current struggles, her dreams, her long-term desires. ¬†I must have been talking to her for about 30 minutes, totally locked in on her with prophetic tunnel vision. ¬†I’m not sure exactly when but at some point her eyes got real wide and were just locked on me. ¬†She served several customers during our talk but almost never looked away from me. ¬†Finally she says, “What’s going on? ¬†I feel dizzy. ¬†Like, my whole body is tingling.”¬†

I replied, “That’s the Spirit of God. ¬†I told you He loves you. ¬†He’s just confirming that.”

She yells out, “That’s awesome!” ¬†Then she calls over to her coworker and says, “You gotta come listen to this guy, he’s amazing!”

I had nearly the same experience with the other employee. ¬†Only hearing God for him was even easier. ¬†I knew things about him that he has never told anyone, including what he wants to do with his life. ¬†I told him about his grandiose dreams that people have always told him were too big. ¬†I told him that God put those dreams in him and would back him all the way. ¬†I told him don’t ever give up, God loves him amazingly and wants him to be happy and successful. ¬†He yells over to his coworker afterward, “This guy just nailed me. ¬†He got me to a T.”

We have been given permission to love people radically with supernatural abilities. ¬†Now it’s going to be even easier. ¬†Get out there and love in ways you always hoped were possible but have never seen.¬†

Preparing to Stand: The Full Armor vs the devil’s Tactics

“Finally, be strengthened by the Lord and by His vast strength. Put on the full armor of God so that you can stand against the tactics of the Devil. For our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the world powers of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavens. This is why you must take up the full armor of God, so that you may be able to resist in the evil day, and having prepared everything, to take your stand. Ephesians 6:11-13 (HCSB)

Ok. Without a doubt, the devil loves to plot against humanity. He is full of plans, schemes and war tactics. He will attack overtly and covertly, obviously and oh sooo subtlely. Unfortunately, we often learn the ways of his offenses the hard way. UGH! But God does not leave us defenseless. In fact, in this passage, He is preparing us to be on the offensive!

Standing in this passage brings to mind a soldier on a hill, in full battle array, banner staked in the ground beside him, sword in hand, heels dug in – immovable.. taking his stand. We are given promises, prophetic words, dreams and visions – often I believe, so that we can stand immovable until they can come to pass. Funny thing about a good strong message from the Lord, it’s hard to shrug off and just forget about it. Maybe this is part of standing in the gap; coming into agreement with God’s plans and not letting the enemy have his way otherwise.

So hence comes this armor from God. He doesn’t just sit us out on that hill to face the enemy army in t-shirts and shorts and barefeet. No, He gives us every tool we need to walk out this journey, whether in active battle, or just standing. I shouldn’t even say, “just standing” – for standing sometimes is the only thing you have left, and the hardest thing you ever have to do – right up until the next time. For example: a momma standing on God’s word for her wayword child praying them to come out of the dangerous paths they’ve taken; praying, believing and contending for their very lives. Yep, you ask anyone of those momma’s – they made a decision somewhere along the way, that ‘here I am, and I’m not budging till this is over’. That’s standing.

This armor of God’s is no ordinary armor. It’s great imagery that Paul gave us and the Ephesians, but the simplicity of it is so beautiful. And it is all God. These are the things that a Christian should be clothed in everyday. We are just often made more aware of the need when the battle is raging.

He tells us to stand with Truth, Righteousness, Peace (gospel of), Faith, Salvation, The Word of God, Prayers and Requests, Perseverance and Intercession. These are not things that are out of our grasp or understanding. But like all armor, every piece will be tried and tested. We will greater learn how they are best used as we grow in our maturity and relationship with Him and we’ll be better prepared to resist, to stand, and to crush the enemy’s tactics.

As for Paul, the one who wrote this passage, he gives us great perspective. Vs. 19 and 20:

Pray also for me, that the message may be given to me when I open my mouth to make known with boldness the mystery of the gospel. For this I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I might be bold enough in Him to speak as I should. (HCSB)

This is a amazing and humbling example of standing. He’s been thrown in jail for believing, preaching and displaying the Gospel of Christ. But instead of moaning and groaning, he’s encouraging, teaching and equipping the Church; all the while with his eyes on the prize of continuing to advance the Kingdom every chance he gets.

Thank God for Hope And a New Year

2012 most certainly did not deliver all that I’d hoped for or imagined. But then again, neither had the handful of years previous. It’s tough when you have a vision, a dream, a calling – something you’ve waited on, worked for, have been promised ‘delays’ in it’s arrival. Actually, it’s in the waiting that perseverance and endurance are shaped and faith tested to be proved genuine. [“2 Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. 4 Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.” James 1:2-4 & “… though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. 7 These have come so that your faith‚ÄĒof greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire‚ÄĒmay be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed…” 1 Peter 1:6,7]

It’s also the place where hope is fulfilled, deferred or held on to. Hope will not disappoint. I was thinking about this again today. “Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a dream fulfilled is a tree of life.” Proverbs 13:12 NLT. I need to do a bible study on the tree of life, yep, I decided that today too. I think though, in the last couple of years, that I’ve learned something possibly important about hope deferred.

Hope does not defer itself.

….. Pause/Selah/time-out/think about it….

No, we defer hope. Hope brings hope, not sickness, so certainly it does not defer itself. God doesn’t defer hope either. He knows the plans He has for us; “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11 NIV. We do it. When the promised is delayed, held up, hindered, detoured, forgotten, unseen, etc. etc., when we’re tired, worn and weary; we can give up. We can give up on the dream, the promise, the hope. WE do it. Then, a glimpse of a glimmer of hope appears, and something once again inside comes alive – that would be God stepping in.

But in all truth, it really is up to us to hang on to the hope of the promised. Hope is found in the ONE we believe in. For me, it’s my history with Him that keeps me from completely throwing in the towel. I still get tired, and then I question… oops.. can’t go there. The ‘did I hear that right?’ ‘Did God really say…?’ ‘Was that a false prophecy?” “If this is true, then why is the EXACT OPPOSITE happening?” Sound familiar? So I’ve learned over time to combat the questions quickly with the Truth. 1. God is not a liar. 2. God is a God of Covenant. Covenants are serious business with God. 3. God is Good… ALWAYS. 4. His ways are not our ways, and they are perfect and just. 5. God is always right on time. Today, Soon, etc., does not always mean before this 24 hours is up, soon could be years.. and so on. God’s timing is perfect. 6. He always shows up with a deposit of Himself – a word, and encounter, a whisper, a vision or dream – and with it hope for one more day.

But when we give up, hopelessness creeps in. And the more attention it gets, the more overwhelming it becomes, and harder is the fight to rise up again in faith. And here at the end of 2012, the days seemed to drag out, and yet disappeared with alarming speed, and as the days grew shorter and darker so did my energy, stamina and even joy. Of course, we don’t get to this state of being by ourselves. “Life Happens”. We get stomped on; tragedies interrupt; illnesses knock us off our feet; family disappoints… need I go on? And yet, ahh.. just before Christmas’s arrival, so also comes the lengthening of days; just seconds at first, until a couple of weeks go by and here it’s 5pm and it’s still daylight. A glimmer of hope. Someone hands you a gift you never expected, or says just what you needed to hear. The stars of the winter night gleam as if they had just been born. A door cracks open.. hope is on the way.

Hang on to hope. It will not disappoint. Do not set it aside. Do not throw it away. Don’t hide it in the closet somewhere. Do not let it go. Yet know what and who it is that you hope in/for. ūüôā And know this.. from Romans 5: “And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. 3 Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; 4 perseverance, character; and character, hope. 5 And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.” NIV

We’ve now crossed the next threshold into a fresh new year. New beginnings. New hope. New life. All things made new. New things released. Take a deep breath, and grab a hold of hope once again. Funny, I thought I was going to write about New Years resolutions, and for the second time, nope. Maybe tomorrow. Or maybe these writings are defining the new resolutions…

Until we meet again…

Joy!
